Photo galleries from my trip to Hawaii, Island of Maui March 9-13, 2009. I had never been to Hawaii before, so I decided to attend the wedding of some friends of mine, on 3-11-09. 311 is their favorite band, and is also a highway just north of where we were staying. Many of their friends and family members were present to witness their marriage ceremony on the beach in South Wailea, a beautiful setting for a wedding. What a great excuse to go to Hawaii - amazing! I stayed in a hotel on the beach in Kihei, a great vacation spot, and spent time in Lahaina, Wailea, and Makena as well. Some of my favorite activities included snorkeling, boating, yoga on the beach, and just spending time with friends celebrating in this beautiful place. On the last day of the trip I took the road to Hana, along the north and east side of the Island. Along the way I saw many beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The narrow winding road was lined with unique and colorful plants, similar to the rainforests of Brazil! I spent some time at the Haleakala National Park and Seven Pools, and cut open a fresh pineapple while overlooking the rocky cliffs and blue sea below. A brief personal summary of the trip can be found on my blog, THINK GLOBAL, entry entitled "beautiful places". . |
